Vietnam’s surimi exports to Indonesia increased by 618%
MEKSEA.COM – Now, Vietnam’s surimi products are present in more than 25 countries in the world. While exports to major markets such as South Korea, Thailand and China have decreased compared to the same period last year, there has been an increase in exports to other markets such as the US, Indonesia, and Lithuania.
While Vietnam’s surimi exports to the main markets reduced compared to the same period last year, for example, Korea reduced by 13%, Thailand reduced by 23%, China reduced by 13%. However, others increased such as the US, Indonesia, and Lithuania.
In particular, the export of surimi products from Vietnam to Indonesia has increased by 618% in the first quarter of this year, although the export volume to this market is still relatively small. Now, the US becomes the fifth-largest market for surimi products from Vietnam.
However, in March 2023, the export of surimi products from Vietnam decreased compared to the same period last year, with a 28% decrease in export value. Despite this, the cumulative export value for the first three months of the year was nearly 68 million USD, a decrease of 23%.
Overall, while there are fluctuations in the export volume of surimi products from Vietnam to different markets, the country’s surimi products continue to be exported to various countries around the world.
