CFSE 2026 Overview: The World’s Largest Seafood Trade Stage

Held from October 28–30, 2026, at the Hongdao International Convention and Exhibition Center (HICEC) in Qingdao, CFSE has officially surpassed the Global Seafood Expo to become the largest specialized seafood trade show in the world. The exhibition gathered over 45,000 seafood professionals and 26 national pavilions from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.

Vietnam’s national pavilion maintained its prime traditional location at Booth B7-0707 in Hall B7, standing alongside major global suppliers such as Ecuador, Chile, South Korea, Peru, and Russia. Despite being funded directly by member enterprises without state budget support, Vietnamese businesses demonstrated strong collective commitment to international markets.

Strategic Sourcing Advantages: Speed, Value-Addition & Cold-Chain Excellence

China has become the fastest-growing market in the global seafood trade. In 2025, China’s seafood imports exceeded $20.3 billion, leading to its first-ever seafood trade deficit as domestic demand for imported shrimp, crab, salmon, and lobster outpaced local supply. International projections indicate China’s seafood imports could reach $29 billion by 2030, accounting for nearly 40% of global seafood consumption growth.

For Vietnamese seafood, China and Hong Kong serve as primary growth drivers, with export turnover reaching $2.44 billion in 2025 (+28.5% YoY) and continuing strong double-digit growth in 2026.

Three key procurement trends explain this growth

📦

Shift to Value-Added Products

Modern retail and restaurant buyers are moving away from raw commodity blocks toward ready-to-cook, portion-controlled, and branded products that lower kitchen labor.
🚚

Speed delivery

Direct cross-border land routes and dedicated air-cargo connections allow Vietnamese live and chilled seafood (such as pangasius, barramundi, black tiger and vannamei shrimp…) to clear customs quickly.
❄️

End-to-End Cold-Chain Logistics

Global shipping leaders such as CMA CGM showcased specialized reefer solutions (including digital tools like SpotOn and SEA REWARD) at CFSE 2026 to guarantee continuous temperature control from Vietnamese packhouses to destination ports.
