MEKSEA.COM – Despite the stressful situation of covid-19, Vietnamese seafood enterprises still make efforts to maintain production and do not neglect epidemic prevention.

Many orders from major markets

Currently, localities in Vietnam have performed well in epidemic prevention and control. Moreover, many factories have maintained operations regularly with more than 1,000 employees. According to a representative of Binh Dinh province’s seafood business, in 2021, the company set a plan to export $65 million, but in the first 9 months of 2021, equivalent to $50 million.

Last months, many businesses maintain production under “3 things at the factory” with expensive costs due to covid-19. However, now all workers have been vaccinated against covid-19, production activities will be more convenient.

Now thanks to the widely injected vaccines some major seafood import markets of Vietnam such as the US and EU have been recovering quickly. Therefore the demand for seafood products in these markets has also significantly increased. In particular, the consumption demand in these countries will increase sharply in the near future when Christmas and New Year are approaching.

In addition, taking advantage of the tariff policy of the EVFTA  Agreement. Therefore, many Vietnamese seafood enterprises have more motivation to promote trade with EU countries.

Both production and anti-epidemic in Mekong Delta provinces

Besides that, many provinces in Mekong Delta have promptly invested in RT-PCR test machines. This assists in testing covid for workers frequently to prevent risks from affecting the production chain.

Some businesses conduct quick testing for workers with a frequency of every 3 days. Although this routine testing is very expensive, it helps enterprises to extract F0 early to maintain stable production.

Currently, many companies have returned to normal production with large production capacity for this year’s peak purchase season. This is also time to recover export production after the 4th wave of the COVID-19 outbreak to achieve the set target of Vietnam’s seafood industry.
