Tuna exports to the US market recorded triple-digit growth 210%
MEKSEA.COM – In the first month of 2022, Vietnam’s tuna exports to the US market reached about 44 million USD, up 210% year on year and up 5% compared to the previous month.
Up to now, the US is still the largest tuna import market of Vietnam, accounting for nearly 50% of the total export value in January 2022, reaching approximately 44 million USD. Vietnam’s tuna export turnover in the first month of 2022 reached nearly 88 million USD, up 0.5% compared to December 2021 and up 108% year on year.

In which, products such as frozen tuna fillet (HS0304) are Vietnam’s main export products, accounting for 66% of total export turnover. Notably, tina fillet (HS0304) increased by 172%, and other processed tuna (HS16) up 278% over the same period.
Not only the US market but also Vietnam’s tuna exports to EU countries also accelerated in the first month of the year. After the epidemic was controlled in many countries in the world, Vietnamese seafood enterprises have quickly taken advantage of the trend of increasing market demand in the world to increase market share. In addition, Vietnam’s seafood enterprises also actively increase production, taking advantage of the incentives of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTTP) and the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
