MARD’s Working Group 970 launched forum “Agricultural Production and Consumption”

MEKSEA.COM – Working Group 970 hold a virtual forum “Agricultural Production and Consumption” with the attendance of Le Minh Hoan – Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien and more than 400 bridge broadcasting representatives of local Departments of Agriculture, experts, distributors and above 200 enterprises and cooperatives across Vietnam on Aug 31, 2021 to find the solutions for agricultural production and consumption during complicated coronavirus situation.

In the opening speech, Minister Le Minh Hoan emphasized that e-commerce 4.0 and supply chain play an important role in meeting market demand.

 

Boosting agricultural output and increasing consumption

In the meeting, Nguyen Ngoc Thach – Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnam Agriculture News stated function, objective and mission of the forum. According to him, in fact, the connection of production places with consumption markets is having many difficulties. Therefore, the forum’s objective is to strengthen information, boost agricultural output, and increase consumption, all under the auspices of the Steering Committee for Agricultural Market Development.

According to Hoang Van Duy, General Director of Mekong Seafood Connection (MEKSEA), a member of Mekong Food Group – specializing in the distribution of agro-forestry-fishery products to 80 markets around the world, thanks to supporting of Working Group 970 and leaders of local Departments of Agriculture, MEKSEA connected with cooperatives, suppliers having the abundant supply of raw materials but facing a backlog due to the impact of the disease and MEKSEA collected about 300 tons of seafood.

The link between companies in cooperation and large orders is still difficult. MEKSEA also suggested that Working Group 970, and local Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, connect more with capable facilities, stable input materials, in order to meet more deeply in terms of quality, food hygiene and safety of export market.

In addition, MEKSEA suggested promoting a forum “Agricultural Production and Consumption”. Mr. Duy said that it is necessary to have smooth information between supply and demand, in order to help units with great demand to close orders soon, and at the same time, transparent unit prices, increase competitiveness, and reduce small links with each cooperatives, production units.
