Vietnam’s tuna exports in October 2021
MEKSEA.COM – Vietnam’s tuna exports increased strongly. In October, tuna export value reached $73 million, up 12% over the same period last year.

According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, in the first 10 months of 2021, Vietnamese tuna products have been exported to 94 markets around the world.
By the end of October 2021, Vietnam’s tuna exports reached nearly 594 million USD, up 9.5% over the same period in 2020. Export value increased in all of tuna line products like fresh, frozen and dried. In particular, frozen steamed tuna loin is increasingly popular in many markets. Export value increased by 11% over the same period last year.
US – EU
As of October 2021, the total value of tuna exports to the US market reached 259 million USD. In which, October increased by 20% over the same period last year.
Especially, shipping of product groups such as processed tuna other than HS code 16, fresh, frozen and dried tuna significantly increased.
It is hoped that the preferential tariff quota in 2022 will bring more positive signals to Vietnam’s tuna exports.
Mexico and Israel
After covid-19, demand for tuna in Mexico and Israel both increased. As a result, In October, tuna exports to these two markets continued to attract attention with triple-digit growth over the same period, 446% and 358% respectively.
Besides, tuna exports to the Chinese market are also growing again. The value of tuna exports to this market in October increased by 85% over the same period, reaching 338 thousand USD.
Currently, tuna production and processing activities in Vietnam are recovering well. Therefore, this is the right time to consider placing orders for this year’s peak season from Vietnamese tuna suppliers.
