Egypt and UAE increase pangasius imports from Vietnam
MEKSEA.COM – By the middle of the third quarter of 2021, the total value of Vietnamese pangasius exports to the Middle East market increased by 25.18% over the same period last year. In particular, many businesses have shifted their exports to the Egyptian and UAE markets.
The Middle East is considered one of the potential markets of Vietnamese pangasius over the past time. Previously, in 2020, pangasius exports to Saudi Arabia were stagnant, but by 2021 there have been many positive changes, the export value to this market has increased significantly. Currently, Saudi Arabia is the third-largest pangasius export market of Vietnamese seafood enterprises in the Middle East with a total export value of 6.92 million USD.

By the end of August 2021, the total value of pangasius exports to the Middle East market reached 56.32 million USD. In which, Egypt, UAE and Saudi Arabia are the three largest markets of Vietnamese pangasius enterprises. Total export value to Egypt and the UAE accounted for more than 63% of the total export value of pangasius to the whole region, exports to Egypt reached 18.7 million USD, to the UAE reached 17.1 million USD
Egypt is not only a country with good epidemic control measures but also good implementation of health issues. The government of this country has accompanied all ministries, businesses and people to participate in the anti-epidemic journey. Moreover, Egypt is also becoming a manufacturing and exporting hub for Covid-19 vaccines in Africa, after achieving vaccine self-sufficiency.
