Container line schedule reliability significantly decreased in August 2021
MEKSEA.COM – Recently, Sea-Intelligence analysts said that the container line schedule reliability has fallen to the lowest in the past 10 years, specifically, the container line schedule reliability dropped to 33.6% in August.
According to statistics, no shipping line has achieved 50% of container line schedule reliability in August, and there are even 6 shipping lines lower than 20%. Normally container line schedule reliability for the year fluctuates at 35-40%. However, more and more port congestion in the US, Asia and elsewhere has worsened the reliability of the September vessel schedule. The number of late arrivals continued to increase in August, increasing from 0.58 days to an average of 7.57 days.

Currently, the highest reliability is Maersk Line with 45.6%, and the lowest is Evergreen with only 11.5%.
Because demand for peak trading is continuing to increase, in order to improve container line schedule reliability, some shipping lines have decided to adjust the number of shipments.
