What may affect the seafood supplies?
MEKSEA.COM – The Covid-19 has been quite complicated in Vietnam now as the more contagious Delta variant continues to spread in many provinces and localities. After Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC) and its industrial neighbors Binh Duong and Dong Nai, have already imposed social distancing order under Directive 16, 16 southern localities including the entire Mekong Delta would undergo 14-day social distancing period starting Monday 19 July 2021 amid rising numbers of coronavirus infections.
16 southern localities to begin two weeks of strict social distancing
The social distancing period will be imposed under Directive 16 with the most stringent social distancing regulations, requiring people to stay at home and only go out for basic necessities such as buying food or medicines or to work at factories or businesses that are allowed to open. Most local seafood factories had to close or cut staff, workers to sustain production. Delivery and transport are also predicted to become more difficult.
“3 things at the factory”: Produce, Eat, Rest
All these stuff is impacting on seafood supplies. Due to shortages and supply disruptions, the price of Pangasius, Shrimp & other seafood are likely to increase in the near future. Therefore, we highly recommend that customers should place orders soon because the quantity of goods is still in the production plan, the price will be less affected compared to the price proposed to increase sharply in the next 1-2 weeks.
