According to VASEP, Vietnam’s shrimp industry made a strong comeback in Q1/2025, with Vietnam shrimp exports revenue reaching approximately USD 938.5 million, up nearly 37% year-on-year and approaching the peak levels of 2022. After two years of decline, this signals a positive recovery trend for the sector.
Whiteleg shrimp remained the dominant export item, generating over USD 556,3 million and accounting for nearly 60% of total shrimp export value. However, the most remarkable growth came from green lobsters, which saw an explosive increase of over 500%, bringing in about USD 215 million, driven primarily by robust demand from China. In contrast, black tiger shrimp showed a slight decline, with exports reaching just USD 78.5 million.
