Vietnam Shrimp exports in 11 months reached a record of over 4.3 billion USD

MEKSEA.COM – Vietnam Shrimp exports surged to more than USD 4.3 billion in the first eleven months of the year, marking the highest level ever recorded. Strong demand from key markets, coupled with rising shipments of value-added products, helped reinforce Vietnam’s position as one of the world’s leading shrimp suppliers.

1. Vietnam Shrimp exports in 11 months reached a record

Vietnam’s shrimp exports reached over USD 4.3 billion in the first eleven months of 2025, up 21% year-on-year. This is the highest level ever recorded. According to VASEP, total seafood exports hit USD 10.5 billion, growing 14.6% compared with the same period last year. The positive outcome reflects strong demand across all major product groups and key global markets.

In November alone, shrimp exports generated USD 385 million, an increase of nearly 12%. Whiteleg shrimp and lobster continued to be the primary growth drivers thanks to a strong recovery in orders from several destinations.

Vietnam’s Shrimp Industry Hits Record-High Export Value

VASEP forecasts that shrimp exports for the full year could reach USD 4.6 billion, while Vietnam’s total seafood exports are expected to close at USD 11.2–11.3 billion, the highest annual revenue ever achieved by the sector.

2. Vietnam Shrimp Exports – Strong market momentum across key importing countries

  • China remained the fastest-growing market, with imports rising 31% to USD 2.23 billion.
  • Exports to CPTPP member countries increased 24%, reaching USD 2.84 billion.
  • Shipments to Thailand rose 22% to USD 281.6 million, while the EU grew nearly 12%, reaching USD 1.1 billion.
  • Despite challenges from countervailing and anti-dumping duties, exports to the United States still posted an 8.1% increase, totaling USD 1.78 billion
