EU and China & Hong Kong Emerge as Key Growth Drivers
The European Union became the most dynamic growth market, with export value reaching USD 32 million, accounting for 10% of total exports and surging 91% year-on-year. Lithuania stood out with USD 29 million, up 108%, representing the strongest growth among major EU markets.
At the same time, exports to China and Hong Kong increased by 46%, driven by strong demand from processing and distribution channels. These markets are expected to remain important growth engines, though competition is intensifying.
Competition Shifts Beyond Price as Exporters Prepare for 2026
Competition in the global fish cake and surimi market is increasingly shaped by factors beyond price. Exporters are now competing on:

Looking ahead to 2026, the EU and China & Hong Kong are likely to continue driving growth, albeit with higher compliance and pricing pressure.
